The Castle is an easy and funny to read introduction in project management and documentation.

The novice reader will find an entertaining story on how project management helps a king to improve his castle. The experienced project manager will find new ways on how, and when, to use documentation in projects. The program manager will find useful and detailed information on how to organize projects and do project documentation.

The book is available now in English and Dutch on the publisher’s website: http://linchpinbooks.co.uk/books/.

This book is written for both operational and project managers alike. It describes the need for a wide range of project documents and their usefulness in ensuring that things get done as they should. For each document a fact card is provided, describing the what, why and why not for each document.

Because circumstances and organizations differ, Jürgen’s book also introduces a new concept called ‘Distrans’. Distrans is a helpful measure that ensures the right level of documentation is used in any organization.

Templates for the documents described in The Castle, can be found back on this Chagwa website. Please see the downloads section. The Castle provides is therefore a useful and funny book that describes how the artefacts on this website can be used.
